Patchayanakhen

In 911 (A.D. 1549 ),the year of the cock, on Saturday, the tenth day of the waxing moon of the second month, A white male elephant measuring more than 4 sok tall, was found at Tambon Tanao Si ( Tenasserim ) and later named Patchayanakhen ( Paccayanagendra ). The city wall of Ayattaya was first construted in the same year.
In 912 ( A.D. 1550 ), the year of the dog, on the second day of the waxing moon of the eighth month, the primary rite ( Pathommakam ) was performed for King Maha Cakkraphat at Tambon Tha Daeng with Phra Kammawacha acting as Phrutthibat, Phra Phichet was Atsadachan and Phra Intharo as Krommakan.
In 914 ( A.D. 1552 ), the year of the rat, the Sae boats were modified into Chai boats and animal-head boats.
In 915 ( A.D. 1553 ), the year of the ox, in the seventh month, the secondary rite ( Matthayommakam ) was performed for King Maha Cakkraphat at Tambon Chainatburi.
In 916 ( A.D. 1554 ), the year of the tiger, the King went to round up elephants at Tambon Banglamung and captured sixty males and femalas. Morever, in the twelfth month, a male white elephant was caught in Kanchanaburi forest measuring over four sok tall. Hewas later named Phra Khachentharodom.
In 917 ( A.D. 1555 ), the year of the rabbit, on Monday, the seventh day of the waxing moon in the seventh, a male white elephant, four sok and one hand tall, was captured in the forest of Phetchaburi. He was named Phra Kaew Song Bat.
In 918 ( A.D. 1556 ), the year of the dragon, inthe twelfth month, troops were sent to Lawaek with Phaya Ong Sawankhalok leading the main army of 30,000 strong. Phra Mahamontri was entrusted with summary power. Phra Mahathep was in charge of 11..... ox carts. The navy was under the command of Phraya Yao. Going against the wind, the navy could not catch up with the army. Phraya Ramlak, an army commander, led the troops to attack the enemies at night. Defeated by the enemies the troops retreated to the main unit. Phraya Ong Sawankhalok was killed and thearmy suffered a great loss of officers, soldiers, horses and elephants.

King Naresuen The Great

From the reign of King Chai Rajathiraj to the reign of King Naresuen The Great
In Chula Era 908 ( A.D. 1546 ), the year of the horse, the sixth month, King Chai Rajathiraj died and his son Prince Yodfah ascended the throne of Ayutthaya. There occurred an earthquake in this year.
In 910 ( A.D. 1548 ), the year of the Monkey, on saturday, the fifth day of the waxing moon of the fifth month, His Majesty the king witnessed an elephant fight. On this occasion, Phraya Fai's tusk broke into three pieces. Two day later, Phra Chatthan the royal mount kept trumpeting, sounding like a conch being blown.
Besides, Phaichayon Gate gave out an ominous sound. On Sunday, the fifth day of the waxing moon of the eighth month, King Yodfah was put to death and Khun Chinnaraj ascended the throne. Forty-two days later Khun Chinnaraj and Lady Sisudachan ( King Yodfah's mother ) were put to assume the thone and was given the name Somdet Phra Maha Cakkraphat. After he had reigned for seven months, King Pangsewaki of Hongsawadi led an army to Ayutthaya in the fourth month. King Maha Cakkraphat went to war, accompanied by the Hongsawadi army, the front line retreated into the main line causing great confusion. The Queen and her daughter fouht with the enemies and lost their live on elephants' back. In this was, Somdet Phra Maha Dhammaraja and Prince Ramesuan were taken hostage. Two royal elephants, Phraya Prap and Phraya Nuparp, were sent to the King of Hongsawadi at Khamphaeng Phet. The two princes were returned to Ayutthaya.
